Herringtons, Farringdon and Lakeside - Down Your Way

The Herrington village show committee met to elect officials and fix the date for the this year's event. Leslie Scott and Ali Mannall were appointed senior show stewards. This show will be held at the Scout Hut, Middle Herrington, on Saturday, September 3. A major change in the show schedule is the substitution of the pot leek section, formerly run by the Board Inn Leek Club, with a tray of five vegetables. Prize money will be £100 and the category open to public competition. The photographic theme will be Flora and Fauna. The show schedule, covering horticulture, cookery, sugar-craft, craft, embroidery, photography and a children's section, will be available in June.
