The Black Cats will face Walsall in a replay on Tuesday, December 11 (7:45pm kick-off) - with both teams set to discover their potential third round opponents before the replay.

44 clubs from the Premier League and Championship will join the competition at the third round stage, meaning a money-spinning tie is a possibility for the Black Cats.

Walsall and Sunderland will be ball number 61 in the draw, which will be made at 7:30pm tomorrow evening.

Sunderland could face any one of these clubs in the next round - provided they get past Walsall:

AFC Bournemouth, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Birmingham, Blackburn, Bolton, Brentford, Brighton, Bristol City, Burnley, Cardiff, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Derby, Everton, Fulham, Huddersfield, Hull, Ipswich, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Middlesbrough, Millwall, Newcastle, Norwich, Nottingham Forest, Preston, QPR, Reading, Rotherham, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, Southampton, Stoke City, Swansea, Tottenham, Watford, West Brom, West Ham, Wigan, Wolves, Guiseley or Fleetwood, AFC Wimbledon, Accrington, Doncaster, Lincoln, Oldham, Peterborough or Bradford, Oxford United, Barnsley, Wrexham or Newport, Solihull Moors or Blackpool, Barnet, Luton Town, Grimsby Town, Portsmouth, Shrewsbury, Gillingham, Woking, Tranmere or Southport.

Ties will be played on the weekend of January 5 meaning that if Sunderland progress, their league fixture away at Charlton would have to be rearranged.

The Black Cats could also secure a welcome financial boost if they reach the third round, with £135,000 in prize money available should Sunderland beat Walsall and then their next opponents.
