Sunderland Antiquarian Society’s next meeting at St George’s United Reformed Church, on the corner of Stockton Road and Belvedere Road, is tonight at 7.30pm. Doors open at 7.15pm. History of Rock lodge and Peareth House will be the talk by Bill Greenwell.

A toddler group meets on Tuesdays in Sunderland Minster from 9.30am -11.30am. Refreshments are available.

Sunderland Maritime Heritage will be open to the public every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am-4pm. Admissions is free. During the winter period it is closed on Saturdays. Go along to the visitor centre on Church Street East to see the extensive library and large scale replica of HMS Venerable plus the work recreating a double capstan, the like of which has not been seen on Wearside for more than 200 years. All are welcome.
