Sunderland Antiquarian Society's next meeting at St George's United Reformed Church, on the corner of Stockton Road and Belvedere Road, is on March 15 at 7.30pm. Doors open at 7pm. Sunderland Football Club in the 1950s and 60s Shack to Hurley will be the talk by speaker Phil Curtis. There is a car park at Gorse Road (free from 6pm) and the Civic Centre car park is also close by.

Friends of Sunderland Museum (Fosums) meet on Saturday in Sunderland Museum, Burdon Road, at 2pm. Speaker Michael Johnson will talk about Puttin on the Ritz – Art Deco Buildings in Sunderland. Visitors are welcome, charge £1.

Sunderland Civic Society will meet at Age UK the Bradbury Centre, Stockton Road, on Thursday at 6pm for its AGM. This will be followed by speaker Carol Freeman. Visitors are welcome, entrance £1.

Sunderland Pianoforte Society will meet in the Sunderland Pottery Room at Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens, Burdon Road, tonight at 7.15pm for a recital by Dario Llanos Javierre. Full subscription (six recitals) is £60, individual recitals are £12.50, accompanied children (16 and under) free, full-time students and those in receipt of benefit £6. The programme will include Liszt: Grosses Koncert solo S176. Albeniz: 4 pieces from lberia. Turina: Cinco danzas gitanas. Beethoven: Sonata.

Afternoon tea is available at Donnison School for parties of six or more. Cost is £7 per person and includes coffee or tea with scones, sandwiches and cakes also an illustrated talk. Ring 0191 565 4835 to book.

Toddler Group meets on Tuesdays in the Minster from 9.30am-11.30am. Refreshments are available.

At Sunderland Maritime Heritage work is progressing well on the Willdora cabin. Work is in progress on the website and if you have any ideas of content that you would like to see on the website, contact the volunteers. Reminder to members of the organisation, membership is due for renewal.
