“We’ve tried to bring in players [on permanent transfers] and we’ve had two bids were turned down,” said Moore. “But we won’t be going back, they are looking for ridiculous money.

“Fortunately, we’ve got a lad coming in on loan.”

Harrison, with six goals in 24 games this season, was due to train with Pools today and the 21-year-old will have arrived at Maiden Castle in fine fettle. The Wales U21 international scored Rovers’ late penalty winner yesterday in the 2-1 victory at Oxford.

Harrison goes straight into the squad for Pools’ visit to Accrington Stanley tomorrow night, providing it beats the weather.

Accrington’s home game against Portsmouth on Saturday was called off because of a frozen pitch.

With temperatures not predicted to get much above freezing, hopes of getting enough thaw appear slim.

Pools’ weekend match-winner Scott Fenwick said it feels like a “fresh start” after his goal secured a first League Two win since November.

Pools beat high-flying Wycombe 1-0, thanks to Fenwick’s strike, converting a cross from debutant loan signing Nathan Thomas.

The ex-Northern League striker said: “2016 is a fresh start, second half of the season, and we are one from one now, unbeaten, and hopefully we can get a little run going.

“From the start of the year, training has been better.

“It feels like a bit of a different team, like everyone is grafting for each other and that spirit is back from the first five or six games of the season. Everyone is going in the right direction.”

On the goal, he added: “It is a great ball by Nathan. The keeper can’t come for that and the defenders cant defend that. I am just there to tap it in.”

Pools’ win took them six points clear of second-bottom spot ands Fenwick hailed the defence. “Fair play to the four of them and Trev (keeper Trevor Carson), they dealt with everything,” he said.

Meanwhile, striker Billy Paynter could make his comeback on Wednesday, when Pools Reserves face Rotherham.
