A new ju-jitsu academy is now running at Grindon Church Community Project, Galway Road. Bushido Ju-Jitsu Academy welcomes new members aged from six years upwards on Thursdays, 6pm to 7pm.

The Alzheimer’s Society will be running Singing for the Brain® sessions at Grindon Church Community Project in Galway Road on the third Monday of every month from 2pm to 4pm, starting on September 19. The following activities take place at St Oswald’s Communicare Centre, Gladwyn Road each week: Tuesday – Parent and Toddler Group, 9.30am to 11am, and Ladies’ Fellowship 1pm to 3pm; Wednesday – Church Service 9am to 9.30am followed by Coffee Morning to 10.15am Wednesday – Taekwon-Do, three to five years 5.30pm to 6.15pm, and older groups up to adults 6.30pm to 7.30pm; Thursday – Sunderland Photography Association 7pm to 9pm.
