Fulwell, Roker and Seaburn - Down Your Way

Monkwearmouth Local History Group meets on Monday, March 7, at 2pm in the Fellowship Room at Roker Methodist Church, Roker Park Road, Roker. There will be a talk by Sharon Vincent, Public Health Reform in Sunderland (The Rawlinson Report). Visitors are welcome.

Sunderland Philatelic Society will meet in the hall of Roker Methodist Church, on the corner of Roker Park Road and Lonsdale Road, tomorrow at 7pm. View competition entries and Bourse. For further information, call Fred Greener on 3852196.

Roker United Reformed Church Fellowship will meet today at 2pm for Members’ Afternoon. All are welcome.

All Saints’ Ladies’ Fellowship meets in the vestry meeting room at All Saints’ Church, Fulwell Road, tomorrow at 7.45pm. Cliff Banks will show slides with music. All ladies are welcome.

First Roker District Brownies meet every Wed in term time in Seaburn New Church between 5pm and 6pm. Rainbows are girls between 5 and 7years. They play games and have various activities and crafts. Anyone interested please phone Christine on 5652547 or 07719181262

A Fulwell ward surgery will be held in Fulwell Library, Dene Lane, on Saturday from 10.30am-11.30am when one of the ward councillors, Howe or Francis, will be in attendance. Councillor Beck will be in attendance from 10am-11am.

Wearside Photo Imaging is a small camera club of photographic enthusiasts who meet on the first and third Wednesday of each month at Fulwell Community Association, Chapman Street, Fulwell, at 7pm. Activities are many and aimed at increasing knowledge in photography and image manipulation. New members are welcome.

If you are feeling lonely and would like a chat, you are welcome to go along for a game of bingo at Audrey’s coffee morning every Wednesday in the Blue Bell from 11am. Phone Audrey on 0191 548 0855 for more details.

Balletbefit adult classes are held at Fulwell Community Centre, Chapman Street (off Sea Road). This is suitable for all abilities and there is no need to have previous dance experience. Sessions are held on Sunday mornings from 10.30am-11.30am and Mondays from 7pm-8pm. Work to dance inspired shaping and exercise classes to improve strength, grace and poise.
