Fulwell, Roker and Seaburn - Down Your Way

An autumn fair will be held at Roker United Reformed Church, Sidecliff Road, on Saturday, November 12, from 2pm to 4pm. Stalls wil include books, tombola, refreshments and more. Admission is 20p.

The Ladies’ Fellowship of the Salvation Army, Roker Avenue, will be entertained on Monday, November 7, at 7.30pm by Ukelele Ladies, a group from Washington. This promises to be a fun evening with the opportunity to sing along with the group. Everyone is welcome, entry £1 per person, which includes refreshments.

Wearside Field Club will meet on Tuesday, November 8, at 7.30pm in Fulwell Community Centre, Chapman Street. Bookings will be taken for the outing to York. All are welcome.

Roker United Reformed Church, Sidecliff Road, would like to invite you to share an evening of song including four part harmonies, starring Compass Acapella and Tyneside Acapella. The evening will include songs from Irving Berlin to Freddie Mercury, the Lion King and Les Miserable on Saturday, November 12, at 7pm. Early bird tickets are £5 and £7 at the door. A Digital Camera Club meets in the Bedehive at the Bakehouse, St Peter’s Church, Monkwearmouth, on Mondays from 7pm to 9pm. All are welcome from beginners to experienced photographers. Learn new skills and techniques. Sessions are £2.

Monkwearmouth Drama Group will be performing the pantomime, Dick Whitington, on Saturday, November 19, and Sunday, November 20, at 2.30pm and on Monday, November 21, at 7.15pm in St Andrew’s Church hall, Roker. Tickets are £6 for adults and £4 for children, available from St Andrew’s Church or by emailing [email protected]. You can also pay at the door.

Ballroom dancing has re-started at the Naval Club, Roker Avenue, on Wednesdays at 8pm. Entrance is £1.50. All are welcome.

Bishopwearmouth Choral Society will hold a coffee morning with cakes, crafts, book stall, CDs and DVDs, tombola and raffle in Fulwell Methodist Church hall, Dovedale Road, on Saturday from 10am to noon. Entrance is £2, which includes coffee and refill, scone with jam and cream. All are welcome.

An autumn coffee morning will be held on Saturday at The New Church, Shields Road, Seaburn Dene, starting at 10.30am. Stalls will include £1 stall, cakes, tombola, cards, marmalade and ginger cordial, raffle, children’s games and refreshments. Everybody is welcome.

All Saints’ Ladies’ Fellowship will meet in the vestry meeting room at All Saints’ Church, Fulwell Road, tomorrow at 7pm. All ladies are welcome.

A Fulwell ward surgery will be held in Fulwell Library, Dene Lane, on Saturday from 10.30am to 11.30am, when ward Councillor Howe, or Councillor Francis and Councillor Beck will be in attendance.
