Fulwell, Roker and Seaburn - Down Your Way

A Christmas fair will be held in the Priestman hall at St Andrew's Church, Talbot Road, Roker, on Saturday at 2pm. There will be lots of stalls including cakes and pastries, preserves, tombola, raffle, toys and Christmas gifts, bric-a-brac and refreshments.

The Watch House Museum at Sunderland Volunteer Life Brigade will have its final opening of the year on Sunday before closing for the winter months. A last chance to visit and explore this interesting maritime heritage, it will be open from noon to 4pm with children’s activities and hot drinks. “Canny Folk” end of year show will be on December 2 at the Albion Public House, Victor Street, Roker, at 8pm, no tickets, just go along.

All Saints’ Ladies’ Fellowship will meet in the vestry meeting room at All Saints’ Church, Fulwell Road, tomorrow at 7pm. Speaker will be Cynthia Hudson – Cynthia’s Christmas. All ladies welcome.

Digital Camera Club meets at the Bedehive in the Bakehouse at St Peter’s Church, Monkwearmouth, on Mondays from 7pm to 9pm. Beginners and experienced photographers are welcome to go along to learn new skills and techniques. Membership is £2 a week.

All Saints’ Mothers’ Union will meet in the Vestry Meeting Room at All Saints’ Church on Monday, November 28, at 2pm. Speaker will be Stuart Cameron. This year the branch celebrates 100 years of membership.

Roker Crafts meet from 1pm to 3pm in Roker Methodist Church hall. Each session is led by a member of the group. On Friday, Elizabeth will be leading a felt poinsettias and sock snowmen session.Take along a basic craft kit (pen, pencil, fine scissors & a cutting board.) and any textured or other interesting coloured papers or wool. Sunderland Philatelic Society will meet in the hall of Roker Methodist Church, on the corner of Roker Park Road and Lonsdale Road, tomorrow at 7pm. It will be “Predident’s Night”. For further information, call Fred Greener on 3852196.

Ballroom dancing has re-started at the Naval Club in Roker Avenue on Wednedays at 8pm. Entrance is £1.50. All are welcome.

A Fulwell ward surgery at Fulwell Library, Dene Lane, on Saturday from 10.30am to 11.30am, when Ward Councillor Howe, or Councillor Francis and Councillor Beck will be in attendance.
