Former bank could be turned into barber's shop and beauty salon

A former bank in Washington could be transformed into a barber's and beauty salon under new plans submitted to Sunderland City Council.

A ‘change of use’ bid was lodged for the former Lloyds Bank in Blue House Lane, Usworth, this week.

The branch closed in February 2017 following a drop in customers visiting the branch.

If new plans are approved, applicants aim to create two full-time and two part-time jobs and retain 13 parking spaces on the site.

Public can give feedback on the plans until November 21 with a decision expected by the end of December.

Information around planned opening times have not been submitted to council planners at this stage.
