First pictures from scene of Hendon factory fire as emergency services work hard at blaze

Firefighters and police officers are on the scene of a factory fire in Sunderland – with those living nearby urged to keep their doors and windows shut.

Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue service confirmed its attendance at the scene in Hendon Street shortly before 1.30pm on Friday, July 10. A spokesperson for the service confirmed that five of its appliance had been called to the incident. Here are our first pictures from the scene as emergency services fight the fire.
