Fire fighters tackle car blaze

Fire fighters were called into action to tackle a car blaze in Washington last night.

One crew from Washington station turned out to Maplewood Crescent, in Harraton, Washington, after the the BMW 5 Series set alight at about 6.40pm last night.

The fire started in the boot of the vehicle and is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.

Officers used specialist cutting equipment to prize open the boot and extinguish the flames.

The car suffered significant internal damage due to the fire.
