Two crews were called to the garden of the house in Gourock Square, off Gardiner Road in Grindon, this afternoon, Thursday, April 16.
The alarm was raised shortly after 1pm and the crews were at the scene for less than an hour before the blaze was brought under control and extinguished.
“Two crews from Farringdon Community Fire Station arrived on scene at 13.14, to a shed fire that had spread to the nearby property,” she said.
“The fire is now extinguished.”
It is not believed that anyone was hurt during the incident.
There are no details available yet of the damage caused or any possible cause of the fire.
