Festive display will shine brightly for Santa
Seaham Town Council put the cash into the show, which will be switched on tomorrow evening.
Victorian-style street lamps have been installed on Terrace Green, as a test run for plans to put a set in place permanently, with Santa, a penguin and snowman figures added to the Church Street section, and additional lights added across the town centre.

Entertainers, choirs, musicians and dignitaries are lined up to join the expected crowds for the ceremony.
Santa Claus will also ride in on a pony-pulled sleigh.
The night will also feature carols sung by children from Seaham Trinity Primary School, among others, and a performance by members of Seaham Music Academy. Christmas fairies and a polar bear will also make appearances, with glitter explosions lined up as the countdown is held.
The council is encouraging shops in the town centre to stay open for the evening, with paid-for children’s fairground rides to be set up in the street.
