Plea to look after local community after rubbish dumped on land near Sunderland school
A piece of land near to a Sunderland school is said to have been trashed by a ‘large group’ of people.
Members of the public spotted a group of people around the Monkwearmouth Academy area, near Cut Throat Dene, on Monday, August 19.
Litter left in the area when the group moved on was caught on camera.
Photographs shared to the Facebook page Friends of Fulwell showed rugby posts, which appear to have been pulled from the ground and smashed, with empty sachets and bottles scattered on the grass.
Friends of Fulwell called on the public to keep their communities safe.
A group spokesperson added: “This post was to highlight to people that we want everyone to look after the area.
“If anyone sees any anti-social behaviour they should contact 101.”
Northumbria Police said there were no serious reports of anti-social behaviour in the area.
