Latest figures for rat reports and service requests collected by Sunderland City Council record a total of 2,180 across all wards since January 2019.

Since the beginning of 2019, the three months with the highest number of reports were May 2020 with 165, January 2020 with 162 and April 2020 with 151. The monthly average since January last is 19. The three months with the lowest number of sightings were July 2020 and July 2019 with 76 each, August 2019 with 85, and June 19 with 93 sightings.
