The pop rockers hone their sound at the influential Sunderland Music Workshops, which has fostered the talents of members of Futureheads and Field Music, based at Deptford and Millfield Social Club.

They’ve had eight years to perfect their tight melodies which are showcased on the new single which features their own track Letter to You, as well as a cover of Billy Idol’s Dancing with Myself.

It’s the first release since the band signed to local label Zom-Zomz and the band hope it will help propel them to the next level.

Frontman Lewis Naylor, alongside lead guitarist Alex, bass player Anthony and drummer Alexander, launched the single with a gig at The Black Bull in Gateshead.

Lewis, 22, from High Barnes, said: “The crowd was packed out the door, the atmosphere was superb.

“We’ve released singles previously but this is the first on this label, which we’re really excited about.

“It will be available to buy at Hot Rats in Stockton Road, as well as at our gigs.”

Speaking about how the band met, he said: “Alexander is my brother, but we met the other two through them playing in other bands, when those called it a day we formed as a four-piece.

“We’ve played all over the North East over the years. I’ve been going to the Sunderland Music Workshops since I was 12 and it’s given us so many opportunities.

“We’ve played the workshops’ Smile concert in Mowbray Park every year for the past five years, and also the Sage. We try and play as many venues as we can to get our sound out there.”

The band is also gearing up for a national tour, starting in London, which will see them play Newcastle’s Think Tank on July 17.

“Signing to Zom-Zomz has been great for us, it’s the next step on the ladder, and having someone in the background really helps you as a band,” said Lewis, who describes the band’s sound as melodic rhythms and guitar-based pop.
