Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed that firefighters attended a three-vehicle collision on Atkinson Road, at 8.08pm, on Tuesday, September 8.

A fire service spokeswoman said that the North East Ambulance Service also attended the incident but no one was taken to hospital.

Emergency services have left the scene.

A Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “Firefighters attended at three-vehicle road traffic collision on Atkinson Road at 8.08pm, on Tuesday, September 8.

"North East Ambulance Service was also in attendance but no one was taken to hospital.

"Crews have left the scene.”
