Emergency services called to three-vehicle crash at Sunderland junction

One person has been taken to hospital and two others were also injured after three vehicles collided at a busy junction in Sunderland.

Northumbria Police, Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service and the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) were called to the junction of Shields Road and Dovedale Road in Seaburn just after 7pm today, Thursday, November 5.

NEAS said two of its ambulances were sent to the scene at 7.10pm, with one patient taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital and two others also injured in the incident.
