"Remember for all Coastal emergencies dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.”

It was a second call-out of the weekend for the two teams, who were also asked to help Northumbria Police on Saturday afternoon: "The team were paged to assist police with an incident at Trow Rocks along with Sunderland Coastguard Rescue Team,” said the SSVLB.

"The incident was successfully resolved by police officers and members of both teams not long after arrival.”
