Eddie Ashman rolls back the years in Knack Darts League with two fantastic displays

First he played Felling youngster Lee Walton in a high-quality match that saw Ashman come away a thoroughly deserving 5-2 victor.

Eddie then faced off against Spiller Henderson and again cleaned up winning 5-2 with best legs of 13, 16 and 19 darts as well as his third 180 of the night.

Henderson shared the spoils in a 4-4 draw with Philly Dunn in his other game of the night.

Paul McGowan returned to winning ways with two fine wins, first he thumped Will Neave 5-0 then beat Anth Skelton 5-2.

Skelton was an easy 5-2 winner over Matthew Hodgson in his other game of the night.

Hodgson’s luck didn’t get any better as he was whitewashed 5-0 by ‘The Jug’ Paul Williams in his second game.

Williams cemented his hold on third place in the league as he sent ‘Friar Tuck’ Geordie Morton packing back to the monastery wondering what he had to do as he was thumped 5-1.

Richard Selby kept daylight between him and the chasing pack as he picked up four points.

Frst he drew 4-4 with Dan Gillibrand then beat David Brown 5-2.

Felling’s Dougie Hall beat Barry Rutherford 5-2 then beat Philly Dunn 5-3.

Rob McCluskey defated Andrew Ambler 5-3, then was a comfortable 5-2 winner against Barry Rutherford but was defeated by second-place Ryan Joyce.

Leader Dave Prins beat Neil Mather 5-1 and Will Neave 5-3.

Graham Mullen was very impressive on the night as he beat Davey Thompson 5-2 in a solid display which saw Mullen take out a brilliant 155 finish in the opening leg for an 18 darter, which he followed up with legs of 16, 19 and 20 darts.

In his second game of the night an unfortunate Neil Mather who didn’t put a foot wrong during the game walked into Mull the Bull who was on fire, Mather succumbed to a 5-1 defeat as Mullen hit winning legs of 14, 15, 15, 19 and 20 darts as well as a maximum, Mather’s solitary leg came in 16 darts. Mullen averaged 30.18 during the game.

David Brown was a comfortable 5-0 winner over Alan Smith in his second game of the night, Smith was on the wrong end of a 5-2 result in his other game of the night against Davey Thompson who is starting to return to a bit of form after surgery, Thompson hit best legs of 18 and 2x19 darters with Smith’s legs coming in 18 and 19 darts.

Lee Walton came away a 5-3 winner over Will Neave in a nip and tuck affair, some great scoring from both players but Walton was the one who found the winning double in the decider.

Davey Thompson was a 5-0 winner over Dan Gillibrand in his third game of the night; Thompson hit best legs of 18, 18, 19 and 21 darts and a 180 on route to victory.

Graeme Hills was on the receiving end of a 5-0 drubbing from Ryan Joyce, Hills then shared the spoils with Geordie Morton.
