Easington - Down Your Way
The holiday/winter period is fast approaching and many people in the local area are in desperate need of help. Healthworks is acting as a drop off for the local FEED project. Donations of food including Christmas treats, pet food treats, toys or blankets for local animal shelters and toys for children would be very welcome.
Stories of Easington is a free after dark event celebrating ‘who we are’ on Thursday, November 24, from 4pm to 8pm in Easington Colliery Social Welfare Centre and various locations throughout Easington. Go along for an evening of lights, brass, dance, crafts, street art, stories, remembrance, hot broth and magic in Easington Colliery. You’ll find exciting events taking place at a number of different locations in the area. Start at The Welly where members of the East Durham Creates team will be on hand to help you make the most of your Stories of Easington adventure. There will be activities by Easington Writers Group, local photos from J-Peg, arts and crafts and from 6.30pm, performances by Easington Colliery Band. Take the Easington Hare activity trail and submit your songs for the Christmas party on December 16. Enjoy homemade broth by the Café Together team. The events are created and produced by East Durham Creates in partnership with the people of Easington, made possible with the kind permission of East Durham Trust.
