Have you always wanted a dog but worried you couldn't look after it all the time or afford it? Barking Mad in Durham is giving people the chance to dog-sit while its owners are on holiday.

Host family are needed to take in a dog on a temporary holiday as an alternative to kennels, Barking Mad also organies events so that host familycan get together. Karen Buckham has only recently started to run Barking Mad in Durham. She has a beautiful miniature Goldendoodle called Bailey and he is the reason she found out about Barking Mad having previously been a customer. There is no need to worry about paperwork or dealing with the customer yourself as that is all taken care of. On Saturday, June 11, Karina Punshon, 11, passed her first Dan black belt with flying colours. Karina has been a pupil at the Belmont Karate Club for five years and has also been voted the student of the year at the club. All her hard work as determination has paid off. Belmont Karate Club meets in Belmont Community School on Wednesdays from 7pm to 8pm and Fridays from 6pm to 7pm. Children aged four and over and adults are welcome to attend the club. The first lesson is free.
