Driver somehow escapes serious injury as car is left severely damaged in crash
A driver who had to be cut free from his wrecked car somehow escaped serious injury in a crash on Saturday.
The incident took place on the A1690 heading toward Belmont, when the car was involved in a one-vehicle accident.
It forced the closure of the road, near Durham.
The Durham Special Constabulary volunteers serving the borough of Darlington tweeted on Saturday: “Currently assisting @DurhamRPU with a 1 vehicle RTC on the A690 at Durham. Somehow, minor injury.”
