Driver critical after suffering '˜life-changing' injuries in horror smash

A man has suffered '˜life-changing injuries' in a horror smash which saw his car left on its roof in a field.

Police are appealing for information after the driver was seriously injured in a road accident yesterday.

Officers were called to Lizard Lane, Whitburn, near to the junction with Kitchener Road, at 1.53pm yesterday, where a silver Ford Focus had left the road.

The 31-year-old driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was taken to hospital by paramedics.

Police said he suffered from ‘serious, life-changing’ injuries.

He is said to be in a critical, but stable condition.

Police are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with any information about the incident, to get in touch on 101, quoting reference 602 02/04/16.
