Double County Cup final delight for Hetton School's cricketers
The U14s edged home by one run against Barnard Castle in their final.
Despite heavy rain the previous day, Hetton opted to bat and only Logan Barton, with an impressive 50 from 53 balls, got going in their total of 99-9, with 23 extras. Lockwood and Seymour bagged three wickets apiece for Barnard Castle.

Hide AdBarton struck early in the reply, as Barnard Castle slipped to 17-3, but a 39-run partnership steadied the ship for the Teesdale side.
Oscar Usher top-scored with 35 and they needed two runs to win from the last over.
But Oliver Watt came to the rescue, picking up a memorable hat-trick to finish with 4-8. Barton (2-14) and Ella Tomys (1-26) also struck as Barnard Castle were all out for 98.
Hetton defeated Durham Johnston School by 61 runs in the U15 final.

Hide AdHetton were put in to bat and posted a tremendous 165-3 in 20 overs, Barton leading the way with an unbeaten 81,off 57 balls, with 11 fours and two sixes.
Miles Birbeck hit 50, while Isaac Unsworth took 2-22.
Durham Johnston could only manage 104-8 in reply, James Hindmarsh hitting 18, Unsworth 17, McCall 13 and Crawford 12. Watt (2-10) and Barton (2-25) starred for Hetton with Scott, Dreeze and Birbeck also striking.
