Musician Sam Fender will play the rescheduled This is Tomorrow festival

As a result of the rising uncertainty of whether any large-scale events will be able to go ahead this year in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak, the Tyneside festival will now take place from Friday, May 28 to Sunday, May 30, 2021, the late May Bank Holiday weekend next year.

The majority of the line up, including all headliners, such as Sam Fender, Gerry Cinnamon and Royal Blood, remains intact with more additions due to be announced.

All tickets are still valid for the 2021 dates.

Organiser Steve Davis said: “Once again, we find ourselves in the firing line of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the best thing to do for all concerned is to move to a date that we are confident the event can go ahead as planned. We will use the extra time we have to make further additions to the line-up and experiences to the event.

“We were in the middle of adding a dance arena and ‘glamping’ to the event as well as other additions to the line-up before the pandemic struck. Over the coming months, we will develop these ideas further and bring them to life ready for 2021.

“The agents, artists and suppliers once again have been first-class in supporting us and with our combined determination for this festival to go ahead, we will bring a truly memorable event to Newcastle next May bank holiday.”
