Yobs smash out bus window with passengers onboard in Houghton

This is the damage caused to a bus put under attack by thugs as it carried passengers through a town centre.

Northumbria Police officers shared the images of the bus tonight, Monday, February 17, after two window were smashed as it drove through Houghton.

The force has warned those behind the attack will face action, with the incident the latest in a string of disturbances in the town and neighbouring Hetton.

In a tweet, the team said: “Know where your child is tonight?

“Let's hope they are NOT around The Broadway area of Houghton.

“Bus windows smashed whilst passengers on board.

“This IS a criminal act and who is responsible WILL face consequences.”

Northumbria Police say passengers had been on the bus when its windows were damaged.

Anyone with information can contact police on 101.
