Unlawfully carrying a machete and other recent Sunderland court cases

The following cases from the Sunderland area were dealt with at South Northumbria Magistrates’ Court, which sits at both Sunderland and South Shields, recently:

Kyle Morrow, 21, of East View, Horden, was placed on a six-month electronic curfew as part of a two-year community order and was ordered to pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after he admitted unlawfully possessing a machete and a lock knife at Sunderland Railway Station on November 24.

Joseph Steven Lebihan, 58, of Hastings Street, Sunderland, received three penalty points on his driving licence and was ordered to pay a £40 fine, a £32 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting speeding on June 11.

Glen Mackenzie, 34, of Kent Terrace, Haswell, received six penalty points on his driving licence and was ordered to pay a £346 fine, £35 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting driving without insurance on May 19.

Ben Thomas Bishop, 19, of Gorleston Way, Sunderland, received three penalty points on his driving licence and was ordered to pay an £80 fine, £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting drink driving on August 1.

Michael Francis Gavin, 38, of Broome Road, Durham, received three penalty points on his driving licence and was ordered to pay a £68 fine and a £32 victim surcharge after admitting speeding through the A19 Testo’s Roundabout roadworks on February 1.

John Ferguson, 47, of Villette Path, Sunderland, was ordered to pay an £80 fine, £57.73p compensation, £34 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after admitting to handling stolen goods and fraud by false representation on September 10.

Reece Brown, 19, whose address was given as HMP Deerbolt, was fined £120 and ordered to pay a £35 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting three counts of theft in Sunderland between February 23-25.
