Two on the run from police after raid uncovers cannabis farm in Washington home

Two fugitives are on the run from police after escaping from a house as officers uncovered a drug farm.

Northumbria Police visited an address in Craggyknowe in Blackfell, Washington, today, Wednesday, June 10, after reports cannabis plants were being grown, with around 50 plants uncovered.

While one man was arrested, two other people ran off.

A force spokesperson said: “Shortly after 8.30am today police received a report of a possible cannabis farm at an address on Craggyknowe, Washington.

“Officers attended the property and found approximately 50 plants.

“A 30-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of producing a controlled substance and is currently being held in police custody.

“Meanwhile police are seeking to trace a further two people who fled the property.

"Anyone with information about the farm in question, or who has noticed suspicious activity at the address, should call police on 101 quoting log 164 100620 or report it online at the Northumbria Police website."
