The fire service attended a blaze on Carlton Crescent in East Herrington, Sunderland around 4.20am this morning after a vehicle was alight.

Firefighters from Farringdon Community Fire Station were called and the fire was put out earlier this morning.

A Tyne and Wear fire service spokesperson said: “We attended an incident involving a vehicle fire in the early hours of this morning.

"A team from the Farringdon Fire Station dealt with the incident.”
