Teenage boy and man arrested after door of Sunderland home was 'deliberately kicked out'

A teenage boy and a man remain in custody today after claims a door of a Sunderland house was damaged when it was kicked.

Residents in Carley Road in Southwick watched on as a number of marked police cars and vans arrived in the street late last night, Saturday, May 9.

Inquiries into the damage are continuing today, as those arrested remain in custody.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 10.30pm yesterday we were called to an address on Carley Road in Sunderland following a report of criminal damage.

“It was reported that the door of an address had been deliberately kicked out.

“Officers attended and two males – aged 21 and 16 – were arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage.

“They remain in police custody and inquiries are ongoing.”
