Martin Miller was locked up for 18 weeks after admitting the three assaults as well as two motoring offences.

Miller, 28, of Clydesdale Street, Hetton, pleaded guilty to attacking his victim on December 6, 13 and 22 of last year and was jailed for five weeks by magistrates for each offence.

He received an additional three weeks in custody after admitting driving a Vauxhall Zafira while disqualified in Hazard Lane, Hetton, on December 22.

Miller, who also pleaded guilty to driving without insurance on December 22, was banned from contacting his victim, either directly or indirectly, and barred from entering a named street until February 8, 2026.

South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court ordered him to pay her £300 compensation and to pay a £128 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.

He was also banned from driving for a further 12 months.
