Sunderland thief jailed for stealing £376 of vodka, whiskey and pink gin

Thirty-three-year-old Victoria Hetherington, of South Durham Court, Hendon, in Sunderland, was locked up for four weeks after she admitted the offence when she appeared before South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court via video link from custody.
Hetherington, also known as Wilson, pleaded guilty to pilfering £376 worth of Smirnoff vodka, Jack Daniels whiskey and Gordon’s pink gin from Asda, in Gateshead, on January 15 this year.

Hide AdThe court, sitting last Friday, October 2, in South Shields, has ordered that the jail term shall run concurrently alongside a sentence she is already serving.
Hetherington, who initially denied the charge before changing her plea ahead of a magistrates’ court trial, was also ordered to pay a £121 victim surcharge at a rate of £20 per month from the end of January next year.
