Gareth Haikney, from Sunderland, must also pay nearly £1,000 in fines and associated court costs after he appeared before magistrates this week to admit committing the offence earlier this year.
Haikney, 38, who lives in Thornhill Terrace, was caught reaching 113 miles per hour in a 70 miles per hour zone on a southbound stretch of the M6, near junction 37, close to Kendal, in the Lake District, in a 16-plate Land Rover Sport.

Hide AdSouth Tyneside Magistrates’ Court, sitting in South Shields, has now banned him from driving for 56 days, fined him £750 and ordered him to pay both a £75 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.
Haikney, who committed the offence on Monday, May 11, must pay back the £910 total in £100 monthly instalments beginning next month.
