Sunderland criminal with 'flagrant disregard for court orders' is jailed for jumping bail

A criminal who failed to surrender to custody while enjoying bail has been jailed.

Robert Young has been locked up for a week after South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court decided he had a “flagrant disregard for court orders”.

Young, 39, of Hastings Street, Hendon, Sunderland, admitted failing to turn up at the court on July 22 in connection with a case.

He also pleaded guilty to possessing amphetamines in Sunderland on June 5 and was ordered to pay a £128 victim surcharge.
