Shaho Mostufapour, 35, tried to touch both nurses in two separate incidents six days apart earlier this year.
Mostufapour, of Roker Avenue, Roker, has now been placed on the sex offenders register for five years after admitting the offences.
Prosecutor Marc Atkins told magistrates in South Tyneside that both offences happened when Mostufapour was receiving treatment.

Mostufapour, who has no previous convictions, admitted to police he had committed the offences while drunk.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of attempting to touch a woman aged 16 or over in a sexual manner without her consent.
And he pleaded guilty to failing to attend court on Tuesday, July 19, for his original sentencing hearing.
Janice Hall, defending, said Mostufapour had been mental health sectioned several times before the incidents and soon afterwards.
She added: “What is clear is that he is demonstrating remorse in respect of these matters.
“There are significant health issues and there is a history of alcoholism. An alcohol dependency is not something that can be dealt with overnight.
“He has a diagnosis of alcohol dependency and psychosis related to alcohol use.
“It’s clear there are ongoing issues as far as his mental health goes and in regard of alcohol.”
Mostufapour was also sentenced to a 15-month community order, with 55 rehabilitation days and a six-month alcohol treatment order.
For failing to attend court, he was fined £40, with a £95 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
