Northumbria Police officers were called to Girven Terrace, near the Manor House Care Home, off the A182 Pemberton Bank, in Easington Lane, following reports of an attack inside a property at 1pm on Wednesday, April 8.

Today, police confirmed inquiries are ongoing, with anyone with information asked to get in contact with officers online.

A spokesperson said: “Officers attended the scene where they found a 25-year-old man with serious but non-life-threatening head injuries.

“Inquiries into this incident are ongoing but the victim and offender are believed to be known to each other, with no wider risk to the public.

“Extra patrols are being carried out to offer community reassurance and anyone with concerns should approach an officer.”
