Resisting police, drink driving and stealing vodka - a round up of the latest Sunderland court cases

The following cases from the Sunderland area have all been dealt with at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court recently.

Jordan Dixon, 26, of Thornhope Close, Washington, received a six-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £50 compensation after admitting resisting a police officer in the course of their duty on South Tyneside on June 1.

Jack Thomas Edwards, 30, of Gillingham Road, Grindon, Sunderland, was banned from driving for a year, fined £236 and ordered to pay an £35 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after admitting drink driving on February 8.

David Matthew Gerrard, 32, of Frederick Street, Sunderland, was fined £120 and was ordered to pay £9 compensation, a £32 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after admitting stealing a £9 bottle of Russian Standard vodka from Tesco on March 11.

Jacob Spencer Hughes, 18, of South View, South Hylton, Sunderland, was fined £40 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after admitting causing criminal damage on July 9.

Trevor Carter Herbert, 47, of Marion Street, Hendon, Sunderland, was fined £80, ordered to pay a £90 victim surcharge, £85 prosecution costs and to complete a positive pathways programme as part of a community order after pleading guilty to breaching a previous community order by failing to attend scheduled appointments between February 24-March 10 and also admitting causing fear of violence between March 5-10.

Christie Peel, 26, of Lily Street, Sunderland, received a 12-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay a £21 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after admitting possessing cannabis on February 28.
