Power tools stolen overnight in Houghton garage break-in

Detectives investigating a garage burglary in Houghton-le-Spring have appealed for witnesses to come forward and residents to check any CCTV footage after the incident.

Officers received a report of a burglary overnight on Wednesday, July 7, at an address in the Butterwick Road area of Houghton-le-Spring.

Police have said that the victim woke up and found offenders had forced entry into his garage and stolen a quantity of power tools before making off.

An investigation is ongoing into the break-in and officers are asking the local community to come forward with any information that may assist their enquiries.

Residents are asked to check any CCTV or doorbell footage and report any individuals who are seen acting suspiciously in the area overnight between July 6 and July 7.
