Police officers remain on Hylton Castle Road after earlier reports of police incident
The road is now open
Police officers remain on the scene on Hylton Castle Road following reports the road was closed earlier this morning (October 18) due to a police led incident.

The AA were reporting early this morning that Hylton Castle Road was closed in both directions from Grange Road due to a police incident.
The Echo can confirm the road is now open, but a police van and several police officers could still be seen on the road when we visited the area at 10am this morning.
The North East Ambulance Service confirmed they attended the incident.
A spokesperson said: "We dispatched three ambulance resources to the Castletown area of Sunderland this morning at the request of Police around 7am. All resources were stood down from NEAS by 8.23am."
We have contacted Northumbria Police and are awaiting further details.
