Police issue dispersal order in Houghton and Hetton after spate of anti-social behaviour

Two dispersal orders have been served across number of streets in Houghton and Hetton as police look to put a stop to anti-social behaviour which has brought misery to residents.

Northumbria Police has put a dispersal notice in place from tonight, Friday, November 27 to run across the weekend, covering the Houghton areas of Dairy Lane, A690, A182, Newbottle Street, Brinkburn Crescent, Leyburn Grove and Lime Avenue.

It comes following recent reports of anti-social behaviour in the area.

To enforce the notice, officers will be out on patrol in Houghton tonight and police have warned that anyone acting in an anti-social manner will be dealt with appropriately.

A dispersal notice is also in place in Hetton covering areas within the boundaries of Welfare Road, Houghton Road, Station Road, Burn Lane and The Quay.
