Police helicopter used in search after Sunderland delivery van theft

The Northumbria Police helicopter was drafted in to help search for a stolen delivery van in Sunderland.

The helicopter spent around half an hour hovering over the city centre yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, May 6.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At 5.17pm yesterday, we received a report of the theft of a bronze Mercedes Vito van from Westheath Avenue, Sunderland.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact police via the police website’s ‘Report an Incident’ function, quoting log 856 060420.”
