Police discover thirty cannabis plants at Horden address and seize two vehicles in local crime crackdown

Police dismantled a cannabis grow containing thirty plants while traffic officers seized two vehicles and handed out speeding penalties as part of a clamp down on local crime in Horden.

Peterlee Police found and dismantled a thirty plant cannabis farm at an address on Warren Street in Horden yesterday, Wednesday, May 19 as traffic officers seized two untaxed vehicles and dealt with several drivers for speeding offences in a bid to tackle local crime.

Officers also teamed up with Durham County Council to carry out checks at business premises.

A total of five premises were checked as police worked in partnership with Trading Standards, Health and Safety, and the Fire service.

Inspector Emma Kay, of Peterlee Neighbourhood Police Team, said: “I’m thrilled to see the positive work that comes as a result of collaboration with our partner agencies, and I hope that the visible presence of our officers acts as a deterrent to those involved in criminality.
