Police called to Seaham park after reports of youths ‘shooting at birds’

Police have confirmed they attended Deneside Park in Seaham on Sunday evening after reports of 20 youths gathering in the park.

One of the youths was allegedly shooting at birds with an air rifle, Durham Constabulary have said.

A spokesperson said: “Police were called at 7.40pm yesterday (May 16) following reports of around 20 youths gathering in Deneside Park, in Seaham.

“Officers were dispatched to the area to locate the youths, one of which was allegedly shooting at birds with an air rifle.”

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
