Peterlee Police have issued six traffic offence reports to drivers for speeding between Horden and Blackhall following concerns from residents about speeding vehicles.

Peterlee Police have issued six traffic offence reports to drivers for excess speeding within a 40mph zone on the Coast Road between Horden and Blackhall today, Wednesday, March 24 following concerns from residents about speeding vehicles in the area.

Officers from the force’s Roads Policing Unit carried out speed patrols following a request by the Neighbourhood team after a number of complaints were received from residents whilst on foot patrol and during online PACT meetings.

Residents expressed their concerns to officers about speeding vehicles in the area.

In a statement online Peterlee Police said: “A total of persons were issued with traffic offence reports for excess speeding within a 40mph zone.

“We will continue to work in collaboration with our colleagues in RPU to tackle the issues that matter to you.”
