One man arrested following a ‘disturbance’ at a Roker pub over the bank holiday weekend

Northumbria Police have arrested a man on suspicion of breach of the peace following a “disturbance” at the Queen Vic Hotel.

Officers were called to the Queen Vic Hotel on Harbour View Road in the Roker area of Sunderland shortly before 8.15pm on Saturday, May 1.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is underway and officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 8.15pm on Saturday (May 1) we received a report of a disturbance at the Queen Vic hotel in Roker, Sunderland.

“Officers attended and a 53-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of breach of the peace.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of our website quoting log 1031 010521.”
