"I ran out the shop panicking to see him lying on the floor with his bike in the middle of the road, I just tried to keep it together for him.
"Thankfully, he has been very lucky and only has minor tissue damage but it has affected his confidence and he is now frightened to go outside.”
The driver, of the white car, did not stop at the scene which Jen said was ‘shocking’.

"You wouldn’t leave a dog in the middle of the road after hitting it, never mind a child. I just hope that the driver is caught.”
A spokesperson for the force said: “Just after 7pm on Saturday, October 24, police received a report of a collision between a car and a 10-year-old child who was riding a bicycle on Hylton Road near to the Heron Foods store.
