Man's body discovered by emergency services at property in Sunderland street

Emergency services were called to the aid of a man at Cambria Street, South Hylton on Monday, February 24 between 2pm and 2.30pm.

The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) attended the scene alongside Northumbria Police, and confirmed to the Echo that it sent a double-crewed ambulance, specialist paramedic and rapid response paramedic to a private address in the street.

The police force confirmed a body had been found. A spokeswoman added: “At 2.30pm yesterday, police received a report of a concern for a man at an address on Cambria Street, Sunderland.

“Emergency services attended and found the body of a 35-year-old man who was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

“His next of kin have been notified and there is not believed to have been any third-party involvement. A report has been made for the coroner.”
