Man robbed in his Sunderland home by three masked raiders armed with weapons

Three masked men forced entry into a Sunderland home and demanded cash from their victim.

It is reported three men had robbed the victim in his home in Stratford Avenue, Grangetown, at around 5.50pm on February 14.

One of the masked offenders, who was in possession of weapons, forced entry to his home and demanded money while the other two men stood outside.

They all then made off in a red vehicle, described as either the shape of a Ford Focus, Vauxhall Corsa or VW Golf, with £600 cash and a mobile phone belonging to the resident.

The victim was uninjured but left shaken by the incident.

An investigation was launched after the robbery and officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

It is believed that the offenders drove away in the direction of Matanzas Street.
